During the last few years several movies took a deeper look into the electronic dancemusic & clubbing scene. Feiern, Speaking in Code or An einem Sonntag in Berlin just to name a few, took a more documentary approach and featured interviews with dj´s, producers and ravers which were part of the movement since the early days.
Berlins filmmaker & director Romuald Karmakar (»Der Totmacher«,»196 BPM«) introduces his new film "Villalobos" at the this years Venice Film Festival. It concentrates on one of the most influential artists in the german techno scene. Ricardo Villalobos.
The film focuses on interviews with Villalobos,who was born in chile in the 70´ies but grew up in germany and on how he percieves the scene & how he produces his music. But also features footage from several gigs in some of the biggest techno clubs in the World, like: Berghain Club in Berlin (Perlon Night@Panorama Bar, 05.09.2008), at the Closing Partys of Cocoon@Amnesia (29.09.2008), Monza@Privilege (02.10.2008) and SONAR Festival 2006.
Currently there is no release date for german cinemas.
